Network Update: Service Interruption Restored Friday, October 25, 2024

Dear AlpineHost Clients,

At approximately 15:00 on 25/10/2024, we began receiving alerts from our monitoring system regarding packet loss in the AlpineHost Network.

Upon investigation, we identified that one of our major providers, was experiencing outages. Rather than timing out the BGP session, they continued accepting our prefix announcements but failed to forward traffic, effectively "black-holing" the traffic.

At approximately 15:15 on 25/10/2024, we disabled the connection. With this action, network status has returned to normal.

We are awaiting confirmation from them that the issue on their network has been resolved. Once we receive the all-clear, we will gradually reintroduce them into our network mix.

As network status is now stable, there will be no further updates regarding this incident.
