- Domain Registration Services
- Website and Infrastructure Services
- Related Hosting Products
The purpose of this policy is to protect the security, stability, availability and reputation of our services and customers.
2. Our Commitment to Security
AlpineHost operates using security and operational practices aligned with internationally recognised standards, including ISO/IEC 27001 principles.
While AlpineHost is not currently ISO 27001 certified, we continuously review and improve our processes to support strong security, risk management and service reliability.
3. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for all activity occurring under their account. Customers must:
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate account information
- Protect account credentials
- Secure websites, applications and content
- Respond promptly to security or abuse notifications
- Use services in a responsible manner
Customers remain solely responsible for the content they upload, store or distribute through AlpineHost services.
4. Prohibited Content
The following content is strictly prohibited on AlpineHost services:
Illegal Content
Any content that violates applicable Swiss, European or international laws.
Intellectual Property Infringement
Content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, patents or other intellectual property rights.
Fraudulent Content
Including but not limited to:
- Phishing websites
- Scam websites
- Fake online stores
- Identity impersonation
- Financial fraud
Malicious Software
Including:
- Malware
- Ransomware
- Spyware
- Keyloggers
- Trojan software
- Exploit kits
Child Exploitation Material
AlpineHost maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding any content involving the exploitation or abuse of children.
Violent or Harmful Content
Content promoting:
- Terrorism
- Extremist activity
- Violence
- Hate speech
- Criminal activity
5. Prohibited Activities
Network Abuse
Customers must not engage in activities that negatively affect networks, systems or services. Examples include:
- Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks
- Port scanning
- Vulnerability scanning without authorisation
- Network flooding
- Botnet operation
Unauthorised Access
Customers must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems
- Escalate privileges unlawfully
- Circumvent security controls
- Exploit vulnerabilities without permission
Fraud and Deception
Prohibited activities include:
- Phishing
- Social engineering attacks
- Payment fraud
- Identity theft
- Impersonation
Email Abuse
Customers must not use AlpineHost services to:
- Send unsolicited bulk email (spam)
- Operate open mail relays
- Distribute malicious email campaigns
- Forge email headers
6. Resource Usage
AlpineHost services are designed to provide fair and reliable performance for all customers. Customers may not:
- Consume excessive system resources
- Interfere with other users
- Operate applications that negatively affect platform stability
Where resource usage becomes excessive, AlpineHost may:
- Apply temporary limitations
- Recommend service upgrades
- Suspend affected services where necessary
7. Security and Abuse Monitoring
To maintain service integrity and protect customers, AlpineHost may:
- Monitor network activity for abuse detection
- Analyse security-related events
- Investigate suspicious activity
- Take action to mitigate threats
Monitoring activities are conducted in accordance with applicable legal and privacy obligations.
8. Incident Response
Where abuse, malicious activity or security incidents are identified, AlpineHost may take immediate action to protect its infrastructure and customers. Actions may include:
- Traffic filtering
- Temporary service restrictions
- Suspension of services
- Account investigation
Customers may be required to cooperate with incident investigations and provide requested information within a reasonable timeframe.
9. Enforcement
Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in:
- Warning notices
- Temporary restrictions
- Service suspension
- Service termination
- Reporting to relevant authorities where required
Severe violations may result in immediate suspension without prior notice.
10. No Refunds for Abuse-Related Terminations
Services suspended or terminated due to violations of this Acceptable Use Policy are generally not eligible for refunds.
AlpineHost reserves the right to determine refund eligibility at its sole discretion.
11. Third-Party and Upstream Compliance
Customers must comply with:
- Applicable laws and regulations
- Registry and registrar requirements
- Payment provider requirements
- Data centre policies
- Upstream provider requirements
Violations may result in service restrictions or suspension.
12. Reporting Abuse
If you believe a website, account or service hosted by AlpineHost is violating this policy, please contact us using the appropriate abuse reporting channels available on our website.
Reports should include sufficient information to allow investigation of the matter.
13. Changes to This Policy
AlpineHost may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time.
The latest version will always be published on this page together with the updated revision date. Continued use of AlpineHost services constitutes acceptance of any revised version.
